I've been out tidying up the garden in front of the house today. I started weeding it about a week ago but rain interrupted and I never got back to it until now. It was looking awfully untidy once the jonquils had died leaving just the leaves. They still haven't died off but I managed to get the weeds out and it looks a lot better.
Peony in bud. It's going to look gorgeous when it flowers.
Miniature rose in full bloom. No I don't know what it's called but I love the colour. Sadly it's not scented.
This is the wee jacket I sent our new baby, the grey is lighter than it shows in this picture and it looks quite attractive. They decided not to find out whether they were expecting a girl or a boy and I thought these colours would suit either. And no, she doesn't have a name yet - I just call her Sweetpea at the moment. As my sister said we can't keep calling her 'she'.
And this wee fellow came for a visit at the weekend. Theo was our youngest great grand but now he is a big cousin. Here he's eating chippies and laughing at Great grandad who was pulling silly faces. He's a sweetheart at 18 months.
A couple of Sundays ago there was a plant sale in the grounds of the school where we hold our church services. We were praying for good weather as if it had rained we would have had to move out of the hall so they could come inside. It's an annual event and as you can see the weather was good to us. Several of us wandered around after the service but I never bought anything. I had plants at home I'd already been given and still have to get in :)
And a sunset one night last week. The colours were quite deep, they haven't shown up very well. It's not the Aurora which I forgot all about, and was quite spectacular from the photos I've seen. I thought our sunset was quite spectacular too :)
And that is all I have for this time.
We haven't been out and about much of late
so not a lot of interest to talk about.
Keep well, keep smiling, until next time,
Diana

Theo is adorable! I really like that jacket too.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of the peony blooms. Here it is cold and looking gray.
That looks brighter than the aurora here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers.
Sweet baby. :) Aw. Congrats on the new one coming along too.
Beautiful sunset!!
ReplyDeleteA very cute wee fellow!! I called one of my grandchildren Sweety Pie for ages while they finalised the name. She's still a Sweety Pie to me
Diana, I enjoyed this post so much. I was all ready to enjoy winter and then I saw the beautiful pictures of your peonies in bud and that gorgeous rose bush in bloom!
ReplyDeleteYour wee fellow is so cute!
What a busy time you have had! The jacket is really unusual. I haven't seen a peony since relocating to the southern hemisphere, they were always a favourite of mine.
ReplyDeleteNice to see spring flowers as we head into winter in my part of the world.
ReplyDeleteDear Diana, beautiful photos and the jacket is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beatiful sunset and that little sweater/jacket in yellow and gray is so cute!! That rose is so pretty. Too bad it doesn't have a scent. Have a sweet week ahead!
ReplyDeleteI do like peonies ... and I enjoyed seeing all the photographs you've shared here.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket looks very nice and a sweet photograph of Theo.
All the best Jan
Our garden is so full of weeds right now that I can hardly see what’s growing in amongst them.
ReplyDeleteBut like you we have been hampered by the rain.
The jacket looks lovely and I’m sure the new little person arriving will look adorable wearing it
Theo is a cute little boy!
ReplyDeleteLike Mari I am jealous of your peonies soon in bloom. All Nature is sleeping here for some months.
I worked in a garden nursery about 5 years ago and that's where I first started to like Peonies, they are lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely to get the garden straight, we're working on ours and love the little knitted jacket..
ReplyDeleteI am way behind in reading...Love the little sweater, and I know "Sweetpea" will look so sweet and cuddly in it. I just read your newer post, so I know she now has a name, and it is a lovely name for an adorable baby girl. Your little great grandson above is also adorable, and you are so blessed to have these sweet great grands in your life! Oh, peonies! We can't grow them here where we live. They are more up north, but I love them so much. You have a lovely garden!!! Happy Advent days to you!
