Five totally unrelated photo's just so I can join in

and Friday Foto Friends at Breathing in Grace.

The firebox in the engine of a steam train.
A bumper crop of feijoas.
Protest manikins outside the entrance to
the Pike River Mine, West Coast, New Zealand.
A starling's egg in the grass.
Posh fish n chips for tea.
Nice variety of random photos. We found a grackle egg recently.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting...the protest manikins? I've never seen anything like that before in the USA. At least they aren't noisy and violent! Love the steam engine, the egg, and the fish and chips...yum...what are feijoas? Thank you for sharing these insights into your world with us today.
ReplyDeleteI like that style of protesting better!
DeleteI'll write a little bit of an explanation about the manikins in my next post, it's a sad story really.
DeleteI'm repeating Pamela's comments. Very interesting photos and enjoyed them all, but interested in knowing about the protest manikins and feijoas. I would love to have some of the fish and chips. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteI'll write a little about the manikins in my next post, just by way of explanation.
DeleteWonderful five. Giggled at the protest manikins -- great idea! Fist and chips - yum. Steam engines made me think of trains! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Only one egg in the grass? Did it fall from the nest? Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI found it in the middle of the lawn Mary, goodness knows how it got there as it was nowhere near the house or any trees.
DeleteDiana
I'm fascinated with the protest manikins. What a civilized way to protest! The fish and chips look delicious. I love your header. Such a wild and beautiful spot!
ReplyDeleteWe have starlings here as well imported from England by someone who wanted to bring Shakespeare's birds to America. It went badly as they kill bluebirds.. sad.
ReplyDeleteThe protest manikins are unique and I am a train fan so enjoy seeing the firebox.
My favorite picture is the fish and chips.. YUM! Made me so hungry.
Oh those fish and chips look scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteNow, THAT's my kind of Protester! They aren't throwing rocks, yelling and screaming, blocking traffic. :-)
God bless you, sweet friend. I hope you and your little mother are doing well and she is feeling better. Praying for you both!
ReplyDeleteNice collection - did the bird's egg fall out of a nest? Sad.
ReplyDeleteOh, mercy...those fish and chips look delicious. And, the poor little egg...did it fall from the nest? You know how I adore the birdies! Thank you so much for your contribution and faithfulness to FFF. HOPE your weekend is great!
ReplyDeleteFive interesting random photos to make me think about our world and learn something new by looking up feijoa on the internet as I didn't know what this was. I feel hungry looking at those fish and chips! I hope all is well with you and your family.

ReplyDeleteLove your photos. The firebox in the engine of the steam train is so great!
ReplyDeleteLove photos and I love fish and chips.
ReplyDeleteI will have some fish and chips...looks delicious Diana. Also what kind of fruit is that in the picture? I am assuming it is fruit because I have never heard of it. I learn something new every day in Blogland.
ReplyDeleteLovely choices for the series of photos!
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to choose a favorite picture, Diana. The fish and chips look like I must eat them and I also am intrigued by the starling egg. Thank you for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteLovely post today !
ReplyDeleteLove the egg in the grass.
That would be eaten in a second by the Roadrunner here.
cheers, parsnip and thehamish
Your feijoas sent me on a Google Search, Diana. :) They remind me of figs. I have missed participating in the Friday Five, but maybe will again this Fall. At any rate, I enjoyed seeing your random five!
