One day earlier in the week my GKB suggested we go for a walk on the beach at Brighton. It was a grey day but not cold, even though we look like we are wrapped up against the weather. In reality we were in short sleeves under our jackets but there was a bit of a stiff breeze blowing off the Pacific Ocean.
In the pic above my GKB is standing on the bottom step,
there is about a metre drop down to the beach from here
where the sand has been eroded by the sea. It was interesting hauling ourselves back up when we got back.
Just strolling and refreshing my soul :)
The tide was going out so the beach was good and wide.
Rock pools,
seaweed,
and mussel beds.
A child or hobbit size cave in the bank
and kelp just in front of it.
We enjoyed our walk and I hope you did as well.
Until next time,

I've found walking on the beach is a great stress reliever and makes me very happy. Living in Florida, I like to walk right before sundown when most folks have left the beach. It feels sometimes like my worries go out with the tide. Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI also have a need to walk along a beach quite often, having grown up in Sydney not far from the sea. Your walk looks a lot like beaches along the coast here in Victoria, but as we are only parted by the Pacific, they could be quite similar. Thanks for the pics & take care.
ReplyDeleteGKB? It took me a little bit of thought. Good Kiwi Bloke, of course! :)
ReplyDeleteOh thank you for taking us along on your walk on the beach. I can almost hear the sea roar in the background, and the birds calling in the sky. Love the "hobbit cave' and the rock pools...all so interesting. That was refreshing!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't there a Brighton Beach in the UK? That's where I thought you had traveled to. You do look wrapped up on a summer's day.
ReplyDeleteThe famous Brighton beach is in the UK and I'd love to walk on it one day. There are 2 Brighton beaches in the South Island of New Zealand as well, one in Christchurch and the other here at Dunedin.
DeleteOh that looks like a great walk. It's been a very long time since I had a walk on a beach.
ReplyDeleteDiana, your beach is such a lovely color. It looks brighter/cleaner than the beaches here. What a calming refreshing day!
ReplyDeleteStrolling in the beach is very refreshing..
ReplyDeleteI surely did enjoy strolling along the beach via your lovely pictures! It made me miss the ocean...it's been a while since I visited. :) So nice to visit with you, my friend. God bless you!
ReplyDeleteOh I miss walking along the beach. I miss it so much. It is such a great quiet time but now I live back in the desert where I grew up and it is wonderful in very different way.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip and mandibles
Absolutely beautiful. One of the best things is a peaceful walk on the beach listening to the waves roll in and out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful beach. One of my favorite things would be walking by the shore and watching the waves roll in. Living in the country I miss being able to do that.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed walking with you :). I love the beach so anytime is fine with me. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love the beach! Such great fotos. I'm very late to visit... so sorry. Thanks so much for sharing and linking up! Hope you're having a great weekend!
