Notown Catholic Church

The Roman Catholic Church of St Lawrence O'Toole.
The church was built in 1866 in Notown on the West Coast of New Zealand. Later it was moved to Ngahere and after it was replaced
it was moved to Shantytown (museum village) in the 1960's.

A beautiful little church, lovingly restored and
still used as a wedding venue in the old pioneer town.

I haven't had a church to share
for a long time so thought I would

  2. Oh, how pretty! I LOVE visiting old churches! There are some of the most beautiful ones I have seen in St. Augustine, FL, here in the US. Thank you for sharing. I am praying for you and your little mother. I hope she continues to heal and feel better.

  10. I've always felt more comfortable in small, intimate churches. And this one definitely fits that description.

  12. What a precious Catholic Church, Diana. I wish I could step inside of it and say a prayer for your little mother. I'll say a prayer for her here....hope she's doing better.

  13. A beautiful little church. I like the simplicity, the lightness of the white paintwork and the essential devotional items still in place. So glad it's still used for weddings in this museum village. Prayers for your little mother that she continues well after her hospital treatment. Every blessing to you and all your family.

  14. Hi Diana, shalom from the Holy Land. It's so nice to see a small and simple pretty church again. Not so many ornate distractions to real worship and prayer.
