Who opened the freezer door?

We woke up to a wintery blast today.
I opened the drapes and this is what I saw...

Just a little dusting of the cold white stuff.
Thank goodness I don't have to go out in it today.

It's not too bad here but the city schools are closed,
and the state highways north and south
have been closed much of the day.

My eldest daughter lives in the city
and the snow is a lot heavier there,
they are in a hill suburb...
well most of the city is built on hills.

Being on the flat the snow has to be
fairly low to really affect us.

It's 2 or 3 years since
we have had a decent covering here.

And that is how I like it.

Pretty to look at on Christmas cards and postcards,
even to ?maybe? have a holiday in (I think),
but I really don't want to live in it.

Keep warm, keep cool,
whatever the need may be,
but most of all keep safe
wherever you are.

  1. Hi Diana. Gosh, not good to get snow at this time of the year. It's funny over here at the moment. We will get a day of blue skies and sunshine, and we start to get all excited. Then we have a few days of cold temperatures - :( As you say, the snow looks very pretty, as long as you haven't got to get out and about in it. May we all have some lovely sunny days very soon!

  2. If it's any consolation we had massive hail stones and freezing weather here last week and we're supposed to be heading into summer!

  3. Hi Diana: I am so sorry for the bad weather you have been having. This has to end soon for you. Blessings, Martha

  4. Thank you so much for your kind words on My post.Boy oh boy--Snow in June and here in Southern CA. it was in the 100s. I'd much rather have snow,Enjoy. Denise

  5. It seems strange that you are getting snow in May, we are just starting to heat up a wee bit. Hope it gets warmer and drier for you soon. Keep warm!!!

  6. Waa! Oh, my goodness! I hope the snow is all melted for you now. It's so hot where I live and the humidity is extremely high. Summer is here for sure. Thanks for popping in to see me.
